A nice little retreat from the commercial backpackers strip only a short walk away from everything. Owner is really helpful.

A truly excellent hostel - it really is the real deal, staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and I would really recommend it to anyone staying in Penang. Great location, is very nearby everything you need, and the staff are always on hand to point in the right direction!

A nice place with a good location in Chinatown, but not on the dumb tourist street. Probably the oddest hostel I've ever stayed in. Nice place with a very nice owner, rooms are a little small, but hey, it's cheap. It does happen to be near a club so you get some bass boom at night sometimes, and THE WINDOWS NEED SCREENS! The mosquitoes were beyond ridiculous.

expect only really basic condition considering the small price u are paying for. the single occupation has more space and u can actually enjoy the charm of the wooden platform where the matress is on as well. double room is really tiny and u can merely put in your suitcase unless u travel light. but the place is really cool with all the random/organised old stuff in it, it is worth to experience if u are not too picky. note that there is noise comming in from a nearby discos until 4am...

Certainly is a unique building, takes a little while to get used to, we were actually going to leave and find a hotel but we stuck it out and at the end of the day its not bad at all. The staff are really helpful, china town is a bit of a mess but the mall and the bus station are two minutes away and its dirt cheap

It's very interesting place to stay, very different from your run of the mill hostel. The building has loads of character and everyone is very friendly.
The location is great except for the proximity of a club which resulted in a lot of bass from 11pm till 4-5am.

Very strange building, but served my purposes while traveling. Thin mattress on a raised section of floor with a fan next to it in the private rooms, quiet place but accessible 24 hours. Affordable and easy to get to from the bus station. Very few luxuries. (Might need to bring TP). Johnny is friendly and helpful.

The rooms just like prison cells--you even can't lock the door from inside!!! It's very hot in there even with fan turned on. Staff there even donot know too much English.
It's cheap, but it's not a good place to stay.

It's very safe, didn't lose anything while I was there. The hostel owner is friendly and easy-going, can ask her for directions. The hostel is located close to the bus interchange and smacked right in the middle of Chinatown, worth a go staying at this hostel!
