English can be a barrier with the staff, and some of the folks who have been there for a while believe rules like "quiet hours" and "no drinking" do not apply to them. I was a bit annoyed by this. Otherwise, the stay was great and the hostel itself one of the better ones I've stayed at. Would recommend Jeffrey, from USA ~ 14th Aug 2009

Decent hostel, pretty budget relative to other cities, one fridge for sixteen people, but two computers of free internet, and a good mix of ages, and some days (I was there for a week) it was pretty social. No curfew, close to some good pubs, shopping, REI, coffee, close to several bus routes so pretty convenient. Owners are friendly. The "breakfast" was just bagels and hard-boiled eggs... no pancake day even, also there were no bikes available as claimed on the website (just one old bik Vincent, from Canada ~ 9th Aug 2009

As a woman travelling alone I didn't feel the area was safe. It wasn't easy to get downtown as the bus service isn't good. Bathrooms were bad compared to other hostels I've stayed at.
