I liked the location a lot and the room had a window and was lovely. The street outside the room was loud and so if you're a light sleeper then it would be uncomfortable. The staff was only one guy and he was odd; he was no where to be found at times and particularly when we went to check out. We didn't know where to leave the keys and so we left him a note with our numbers and left our luggage in the room to go and grab lunch. When we returned he was upset and told us we were making him "loose his job", tried to explain that he waited for 30 minutes and he should have called us but he was confused. Left there satisfied but a little unsettled.

this hostel was absolutely amazing! location was perfect - within walking distance to everything necessary. the rooms are great, bathrooms are very very clean. but the thing i need to talk about the most is the AMAZING staff. they're the most hospitable people i've ever met! not only did they help us carry our shopping bags up the numerous stairs, but when we decided we wanted to stay longer, they hooked us up with two nights' stay in their tuscan villa! that's right, up in the hills, amazing view, a home-cooked authentic italian meal, and all the wine you could ever want, for a teeny tiny price. i'd will DEFINITELY be returning.

This was a surreallistic experience, the hostal is already a flat in a fantastic old building. The only member of the staff we knew is such a wonderful human being. But besides that there is no comfort. I think it is a extremely nice place and a worthwhile experience if you are prepared for a lot of intimacy and tranquility without any typical hotelery comodity. (It is like visiting a relative!!)

We had a great time at the five star! It was better than staying in a hotel. The staff was really welcoming and went out of their way to make our time there enjoyable (it felt like staying in a home- except it looked like a castle!). Also, the location was perfect, as it was just on the outskirts of the historical center of the city, walking distance from everything we wanted to see. Thanks to Sandra, Simo, and Kate for making our time in Florence really fantastic!
