The Hostel was about a 40 min walk from the center of NY. It's location is in a dangerous part of the city. My boyfriend and i booked a room together and we were seperated for the first night. AS a female i didn't appreciated being placed in a room with all men. The staff was friendly but unorganized and not helpful. I don't recommend this hostel. Dominique, from USA ~ 17th Oct 2009

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel, the location is in uptown manhattan but the subway station is really very close so it is not a problem to reach the center of manhattan in a few minutes. The price is cheap, room was clean, I met interesting people there. The only thing I missed was the soap in the bathroom on 3rd floor and I had some problems with the wifi (sometimes I could not connect to the network). But in general I was satisfied and because I am coming back to NYC this week I will book 5th Martin, from Slovakia ~ 13th Oct 2009

I stayed in that hostel 3 nights. On the second night 2 girls came to my door claiming that they were supposed to sleep there. Their tickets said the same thing and they also had keys for the room, even though it was a 6-bed dorm, and 6 people were already there. they went downstairs to speak with the receptionist, and 20 minutes later they came back. yeah their beds were double-booked and they wouldn't let them sleep in another room so they had to sleep on the floor. they also didn't get a refu Marina, from Bulgaria ~ 30th Sep 2009

Nothing in the area except for a subway station (lines 2 and 3). Everything here is small, with no communal space (with the exception of the front foyer, which has 2 couches). My wife and I requested to be in the same room via email after booking via Hotels.com, and they acknowledged our request.. but when we arrived they could not accommodate that. At least we were on the same floor. The rooms are well secured, so well in-fact that I had to go to reactivate my card on a daily basis be Jonathan, from Netherlands ~ 8th Sep 2009
