Have some spare coins to make a phone call for check in as the lady is often upstairs and doesn't hear the doorbell! Phones are right outside the hostel and phone number is left on the door. Kerry, from England ~ 15th Nov 2009

The hostel is small, clean, cosy, cheap & surprisingly busy for it's size. Plenty of info available, & facilities are great. Decent free breakfast in the morning. Good showers/toilets, cable tv, games, movies, one computer with free internet. Free WIFI is excellent. Dorm rooms have no windows, but the whole place has good aircon, and what do you want to spend all your time in the room for anyway! , The rules may seem a bit stifling at first, but Kay is a lovely kind host. it's not like we expected, but for that price, it was ok ... what can you expect more than that ??? what most satisfied me, was the breakfast, many choices and yummy, and bathroom clean.but not really friendly there. MASIHOL SAHAT MARITO, from Indonesia ~ 12th Nov 2009

It is best that you call the hostel after you make the online reservation so you would be oriented about additional charges. Please bring your own towels and power converter for your fones or laptops so you wont incur additional charges. Diplomacy with the care taker is the name of the game. The lady owner was very up and down either very pleasent or argumentative. Booking online is cheaper than the walk in rate. The hostel is very cluttered with boxes and things everywhere. It's okay for one or two nights. bernadette, from England ~ 11th Sep 2009

in fact, i'm disappionted and make confuse by the reviews. Firstly, this hostel locate in sin zone and very difficult to find it. Beside, very tight space and unfriendly staff(an old woman). The room full the bad smell. Some bugs bite me, i can't sleep over night. I gain a hard feelings and mystical experience in here. LEUNG, from Hong Kong ~ 5th Sep 2009

I loved everything about my stay in 98SG. It's right by the Aljunied MRT Station and tons of diners around the area. The only redflag for me was the hall/stairway which wasn't maintained very well. It was dirty for the most part and it smelled like rotten food. Other than that, everything was great! Toni Cristy B., from Philippines ~ 2nd Jul 2009

A lovely little hostel that feels like home. The staff are friendly, courtious and helpful. The hostel is situated close the MRT (approx 50m) and is close to good food and a bustling Market. I would recomend this hostel to anyone but would say if you're looking for a party place, this isn't for you. James, from England ~ 18th Jun 2009
