Visited Chicago for a cheap business trip. Not spectacular, but not bad either. Stayed in single private room, spartan and without character, but it had a big comfy bed. Staff has the stereotypical Greek hospitality. Rooms were clean, and the drunken vomit my German tourist neighbors spewed all over the shared bathroom in the middle of the night was quickly cleaned the next morning. Best of all, GREAT Wi-fi.

a nice place. A safe neighborhood. A good place to stay while you are in Chicago

The hostel is connected to one of several Greek restaurants in the area. I arrived at 6:00 a.m., but wasn't able to check into my room until 11:00 a.m. Luckily, a nice gentleman allowed me to leave my bags until I returned. Greektown seems to be a cool area with restaurants, new lofts/condos going up, and I definately felt very safe walking around in the neighborhood day and night. My only major grip was that after I checked in, there wasn't a front desk person to go to to ask questions

Our reservation was "lost" and that was upsetting. We did not have access to the coffee / lounge area during the night and the shower had no hot water. We will not stay there again.

Very good location. Room is fine, new bed ( I got double bed room) but floor is dirty with hair, dust, etc. Living room is look poor, but you go there for enjoy the Chicago, so it's not so importance. ํI can walk on the way to Union Station and found a nice old restaurant there....easy to walk to the city, cool.

Very grumpy reception, almost no information, forgot to show us the washrooms. In general we did not feel welcome at all, and it felt like they would rather have us just leave our money and go somewhere else.

I like the idea that hostels are showing up more in the US. This one is overpriced for what it is. We too as another traveler described payed the deposit and then was charged the full amount at check in. The owners are very nice and accomodating. The shower rooms had the typical carpet type floor rugs, which were soggy wet, yuck! they need to put in grated rubber mats. Overall, if I had to make the choice, I would not stay here again, for 85.00 a night for two people you can find a better place

You share bathrooms and toilets with all the bedroom on the same floor, meaning you sometimes have to wait a long time for the shower to be free ! But the location is great, two metro stations from the Loop, in Greektown. important : there is a (greek?) nightclub across the street, playing loud music late in the night, so ask for a bedroom that does not have a view on this street if you have any problem to sleep in a noisy environment !
