This dingey motel was a pretty huge dissapointment. The staff were rude right off the bat, wouldn't let us use the phone, they pestered us constantly for when we were leaving and for the key before we'd checked out. There were bedbugs and the electricity didn't work, and the display on the TVs was extremely spotty. There was a group of guests yelling in the hallway at 3am and nobody told them to be quiet and when we went to the front desk nobody was there. There was often nobody at the fron Thea, from Canada ~ 24th Oct 2011

A great stay for the price! It's a no-frills kind of place, but for the price, it's pretty impressive. My boyfriend and I stayed one night at $60 with tax and all.We had our own room with queen bed and a full private bathroom. The staff was really nice and very helpful. It doesn't seem like a great place for people hoping to party with their fellow hostelers, but for couples or people just looking for a quiet place to sleep in downtown Portland, it's the perfect place. Our stay here was pleasant it's just a simple hotel with a great location for an excellent price. Our double room had a tv, microwave, and a fridge.I would definitely recommend this hotel for travelers on a budget. Cynthia, from USA ~ 19th Sep 2011

1st i paid more than the offer. the 10% goes to AAE Reservationservice. and i have to paid the full rate. It is nowhere written in the description. 2nd i slept in a 5 bed room, but i paid for a 4 bed room. 3rd I just wanted to clear it with the staff, but they shout at me. I should not make trouble. I pay now,or I can go. 4th it isn't a hostel. it's a Inn. 5th the restroom doesn't work it was so disgusting. 6th wifi doesn't work. And the stuff told us,we'd use the internet form any rester Andreas, from Germany ~ 23rd Aug 2011

Good hostel, friendly staff, the only vice is that they charge for luggage storage for a couple of hours the day that you leave... Wander, from Netherlands ~ 17th Aug 2011

This is not a hostel. It is a cheap hotel in a great location. Beware of the shower in 43 - it'll blast you through 42 if you're not careful. Sara, from USA ~ 17th Aug 2011

Not a hostel. A depressing motel with not an ounce of character or soul. Not the best area, in the end. Stay at Hawthorne hostel or save your pennies for the Jupiter, well worth it. Jonathon, from New Zealand ~ 7th Aug 2011

This was a TRUE hostel experience. Free Wi-Fi, free use of computers on site, library, theater, kitchens, laundry facilities, courtyard and hot tub! It was VERY clean and the staff was all really helpful. The only downside was that we were in a room that faced the street and it was impossible to keep the windows open at night because of the number of bars nearby and the noise at night. I also wouldn't recommend walking around super later at night by yourself in the neighborhood. Overall,LOVED IT Tiffany, from USA ~ 7th Aug 2011
