Abbasi Palace Hotel is quite cheap abd located in down town very close to the souks, the Roman Theater, the Ummayad Palace and Rainbow Street. However the people working there speak very little English. Also only the owner seems friendly and welcoming. Rooms are very basic. No hot water and little water pressure. this hostel was in a busy part of Amman, but very near the Roman Theater. Eva, the polish manager, was most helpful and friendly. She helped organize a day trip to the Dead Sea for us. Emily, from USA ~ 27th Jul 2009

This is the place to be! The Abbasi is under new management as of 6 months ago and they are amazing! I came for 2 nights and have stayed 7. The location is perfectly situated downtown and markets, shops, food and sites are all walking distance away. Be careful taking a taxi to the hotel on your first visit, because there are a couple other 'Palace Hotels' in the area that cab drivers like to take tourists to (because they get $).
