Academica Summer Hostel in Helsinki, Finland

A good hostel, excellent location a short walk or underground ride to the city centre. Rooms were spacious with kitchen facilities included. Information board was useful with some great tips for good places to try some Finish food. John, from England ~ 20th Aug 2009

I got lost and couldn't find the hostel. The hostel was the most difficult hostel to find in the world. I searched everywhere for the hostel, and ended up giving up around midnight. Probably it was locked up by then anyway. I was able to find Helka hotel nearby, and ended up staying there. Esther Esther, from Canada ~ 10th Aug 2009

The rooms were specious and always clean. The only downside was that while staying in a 4 person dorm, we had to share 1 key by always bringing it down to reception, and sometimes having to knock and wake or bother our room mates to let us in...annoying. The building is a modern student residence and appears to be open in the college vacation, I went in early July and it had not got busy yet. Emphasise that the staff are very helpful. It is only a ten to fifteen minute walk into central Helsinki but catch the tram as they suggest the first time. Geoff, from England ~ 10th Jul 2009

The best about this place is the white sheets! And the rooms are big! It's very well located! The staff are great! On the down side the facilities look a bit worn out... and some of the beds remained un-made for a couple of days even though the guests had already left... Fernando, from England ~ 2nd Jul 2009
