friendly staff, nice bar, great movie-room, but really small bathroom (one for the whole level) and too expensive.... Amelie, from Germany ~ 4th Apr 2012

Probably the best hostel I've ever been to. Can't think of a single negative thing to say about it. Rooms were large even with lots of beds, the Movie Room was a great touch, the laundry facilities were perfect for someone on a long trip...the list goes on. The dorm rooms actually beat out many hotel rooms I've had in the past. They even let you leave your luggage for the day after check-out if you have a later train/bus, which was incredibly convenient. Mariah, from USA ~ 2nd Apr 2012

Close to the train station, close to attractions uptown. I thought the price was fair for what we got. Only thing that wasn\'t top-notch was the bathroom in our room- it was similar in design to one in a mobile home very small and cramped. It probably wasn\'t originally there when the rooms were designed/partitioned, and seemed to have been placed as an afterthought. The neighborhood has a very active nightlife, so consider that. The hostel building was gorgeus. Loved it. Really excellent value for money. It is really a hostel boutique as they advertise. Beds mattress and sheets brand new. Very clean. Great breakfast! I cannot imagine how they can improve the facilities and/or service. Maria Victoria, from Argentina ~ 20th Feb 2012

Ensuite bathrooms were horrible. They seemed a bit like those bathrooms that construction sites have. Hopefully these are just temporary and they will change them. Apart from that and the price over the weekend everything was good. There was plenty of space, the beds were comfortable, it was warm enough. The breakfast was good. Being a boutique hostel, the interiors are very good. Cleanliness wouldn't be a problem. The location is quite good as it is just a few minutes walk from the train station. The only problem with this hostel is that it has a bar just next door to it so there is a lot of commotion uptill 12:30. The staff could be much more friendlier. But overall for the price and location i would recommend this place. Hardik, from India ~ 30th Oct 2011

This hostel was AWESOME!!! It is super close to the train station and down town York. We were able to walk everywhere touristy within minutes. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the building itself was GORGEOUS!!! The beds were very comfy, the rooms were spotless, and I loved the fact we had decent sized lockers under our beds. The lounge area in the basement was pretty relaxing as well, and it was relatively cheap to use the internet and contact home. I will be back here 100% for sure. Aimee, from Canada ~ 2nd Sep 2011
