  • Adelaide hostel was the most expensive hostel I stayed at while travelling at just under $40 per night. The staff were plesant, however incorrect information was given about air port shuttle transfers. The floors in my room didn't look like the had been vacumed in quite some time and the basin area was not clean. Shared bathrooms were somewhat clean, but one of the showeres also had a band aid of the floor that remained there for a couple of days.

  • ההוסטל היה ממש נחמד וביתי. החדרים והשירותים נקיים. יש אירועים שמאורגנים על ידי ההוסטל עם הוסטל נוסף וזה ממש נחמד. אנשים צעירים מכל העולם.

  • overall a pretty good hostel. I stayed in a 6 bed mixed room. It's not a shabby place; the lounge and downstairs kitchen is actually nice. If you get your own private room, those are way nicer than the ones you share with people. The 6 bed rooms are basically 3 bunk beds with a makeshit curtain for privacy and a "shelf" (its basically a wooden board that you can padlock) on the bottom to store your stuff. Bring a lock to save five bucks!! Also, SF has tons of homeless crackheads! Be WARNED!

  • When you book a private room with Adelaide they will send you around the corner to their sister property the Dakota. I don't think Dakota was as nice as Adelaide so that was a bit disappointing but overall it was decent. Not too far from the BART or from Union Square and they had plenty of space in the storage room so that was nice for holding our bicycles. The staff was friendly and helpful. Value I suppose isn't too bad for SF but I thought it wasn't great for the property.

  • You don't get much, but you get what you pay for. It's cheap, it's at a relatively good location, it's relatively clean and you feel relatively safe. I should note we rented a twin room which puts you in a separate hotel building. The dorm rooms might differ a lot from my experience.

  • The Hostel staff sent us to their sister hostel that was on a noisier street and the lobby and internet area was not as nice there. Also, the street was noisy and the elevator was difficult to use since it was really old. If you didn't close the door appropriately it wouldn't work. So most of the time the elevator was stock somewhere and we used the stairs to go up and down from the 6th floor. I do not recommend this hostel nor would I ever stay there again.

  • Please tell people about the area as soon as they get there. Its not the safest and I ran through streets where I felt really uncomfortable and unsafe

  • It was nice experience and was far good to our expectation. The staff was friendly and also the kitchen was very hygienic. The locality is good and one of the best place that would fit in budget.

  • All in all, a good hostel. Awesome location, good breakfast, and a nice living room. I enjoyed reading and drinking tea in the living room a lot. However, I stayed in a room facing toward the alley of the hostel entrance, and it can get quite noisy at night when people chatted loudly by the entrance. Also, the bunk bed shakes and makes sounds when someone tried to move. For a light sleeper, these two conditions really gave me a hard time sleep.

  • It is in a good location, had a typical backpacker hostel atmosphere, decent breakfast and stable internet connection. On the other side, our private room looked really old and shabby, the window could not be closed completely and there was practically no storage space in the room and the bathroom. Despite this, it was the better one of two hostels during our vacation.

  • Please be clear if you have capacity in Adelaide and don't shove people into Dakota. Very unclean and shady. But thankfully good front office staff in Dakota.

  • My bed was creaking badly. I couldn't move without waking everybody up. The space between the 2nd bed level is not enough that you can not even sit on the bed properly. All else was fine)

  • The Adelaide is located within walking distance of Museum of Modern Art, the Asian Museum, shopping. Trolley, bus lines and BART are all within blocks of the hostel. Rooms are clean. Staff is present 24/7. The kitchen is clean and well-supplied. Computers are available. For those with cars, parking is practically around the block. Very reasonable. Excellent written directions to parking garage. Luggage storage prior to registration and after checkout is available. I will return.

  • Well this was my first hostel say, so a little tough to compare. I was pleasantly surprised by the great people who work there, the clean bed and rooms. The friendlyness of the guests was also welcomed. I will definitely stay at hostels in the future, and for 27 bucks, this was a great value overall, of which I am really picky.

  • The bathrooms were gross and the bunk beds were horrible. If they bought every bunk bed from a garage sale, I wouldn't be surprised. They were wobbly, squeaky, and uncomfortable. Other hostels for similar prices had more comfortable bunk beds. It also would've been nice to have a curtain around the beds.

  • We booked a private room, all of which are located at the Adelaide's sister location, the Fitzgerald Hotel, which was excellent! Our rooms, beds, and bathrooms were clean and comfortable; the location was great; the staff was friendly and helpful regarding recommendations, etc.; and the free daily breakfast was tasty and saved us tons of money! The Adelaide was also cute and clean with a friendly staff and fun, friendly travelers. We will definitely return on our next trip!
