“ To my surprise,I am charged about $100 for tax when I arrived at the hostel,and I want to know why? Hasn't it be included in the price provided by hostels.com? I feel like being cheated. ”

“ We booked at a hostel then were moved down the street to a hotel that was terrible. Rude staff and dirty smelly rooms. Also it cost a fortune for the dump it was. ”

“ The room is so crampy and you easily stamp on others , besides, it seems they don't find my booking and I have to wait for a long time. I booked Adelaide hostel but I was told to lodge in a nearby hostel called Dakota, and I don' understand. ”

“ Friendly and helpful staff, especially Rico at breakfast. I loved the bunk nooks with curtains so you're not bothered when roommates turn lights on. Also loved having power sockets + ledges at each bed, so you can charge your electronics at night without leaving them out in the middle of the room. Bathrooms/showers aren't super clean, but hey, it's a hostel. ”

“ Breakfast (included) was excellent! Room was well-decorated and clean. Bathroom was very nice, (although the cold water faucet in the sink did need a new washer). Value for money = GREAT (five blocks from Union Square). Staff was very accomodating when the wee elevator failed to function on a weekend moved us from the 4th floor of Fitzgerald Hotel (where the private rooms are) to the 1st floor. No way I could have climbed the stairs. ”

“ We had the best stay at adeleide, had so much fun and it was pure hostel atmosphere. The staff was great, fun with all the events every night, loved san fran, such à chilled city. The rooms and restrooms were clean, big and cozy common room. Perfekt / the Swedish in room F ”

“ We actually stayed in the Fitzgerald room, where they have their couples rooms. They were sufficient, clean, and the staff was friendly. The hostel itself appeared to have a lively common room, and again the staff were very friendly. ”

“ Was a great stay! Staff is nice - just makes sure that it's quiet in front of the building during the night - because of the neighbors. Nice kitchen, nice breakfast, good rooms. Location is ok. You have to walk a lot. But I will go here again whenever I come back to SF! ”

“ Adelaide Hostel was absolutely amazing! We were in America for 5 weeks in total and stayed in a variety of hostels and hotels and this was by far the best. Great atmosphere, , beautiful living area, free internet, laundry facilities, great breakfast, friendly, helpful staff, extremely hygienic, 5 min walk from Market Street, nightly activities, crazy pub crawl...i can't explain how much we all felt at home here! could easily stay here for a few weeks :) ”

“ The wine bar on the first floor (of the fitzgerald hotel, which is where you're sent if you aren't in a dorm room) is wonderful stop by and chat with the proprietesses if you get the chance. The fitzgerald rooms are small, but are well decorated and have all the essentials, and I'm not sure what we'd do with the extra floor space anyway. Yoga? No idea. The hotel staff isn't sociable, but they're competent. ”

“ We booked through the Adelaid hostel and were utterly surprised at what a great room we got, we asked for a private twin with a private bathroom and found that these were all located in the Fitzpatrick Hotel round the corner...which was really great. For the price we paid i cannot believe anyone could get a better location and facilities than this place. ”

“ The hostel is very central, place is nice, lives up to what they advert. Breakfast is decent, don't expect fancy looks on your food, but the bagels and giant nutella/jam bowls are there, so are the fruits and oatsmeal. Rooms are clean, staff is helpful, they try to do lots of different activities to break the ice between guests, up to you to take part. My only complain is that you get a locker but no lock, which you have to pay extra. You can use the safe for free though. ”

“ The staff were quite good at this hostel, however there is only 2 computers on the premises. Breakfast left a lot to be desired, there wasn't even any cereal available. The private rooms are very small and you would feel cramped in them. The price is extortionate despite it's central location and the rates go up on weekends. It would cost on average $400 to stay in a dorm for the week and over $500 for a private room and I don't know many student with that kind of money. A week there is enough. ”
