for a professional and established hotel, the room prices are very good value.

In compare with the price of the rooms, it was a very nice hotel in the city center of damascus.

We were overcharged USD 70 upon leaving the hotel. Keep all receipts close to you and allow for up to an hour before you wish to leave because you might have to argue over the bill.

Generally good. Cheap and well maintained and well situated. Watch out for the hotel staff though - they all appear to be in league with local taxi drivers who systematically overcharge foreigners on every fare!!! Cheeky

If you are alone you will be given a room at the ground floor wtihout window (just aircon) so you can get some better deal in the citie... (hotel al saadat as example, maybe it is in a guide)

The entrance was unique and inviting. However, the actual rooms were somewhat disappointing. 20 minute walk to the souk and Mosque. Night staff very friendly and helpful, but the day staff was not. Don't take the hotel's offer to pick you up at the airport. WAY overpriced. Taxis at the airport are cheap and know where the hotel is located. Guidebooks claim the hotel is "newly remodeled with all new bathrooms." That information was not correct.
