the bathroom was in pretty bad state. half the stuff in the kitchen was broken or on the sink rack as there was no means to dry stuff! No Wifi and no computers. the VHS player was broken and the TV was barely watchable.... and i was covered in bites from something in my bed after the first night. Not a bad place to stay. Good location right in down town. We booked a 4 bed mixed dorm but it seemed the receptionist just threw us in anything they had open. Seemed like a lot of permanent residents. Overall a good place to stay. Mark, from USA ~ 14th Sep 2009

I did my reservation through hostels.com and when I got there they didn’t have it in their “system” which was very annoying that they didn’t respect that, however the staff was nice and tried to look for another hostel for us and ultimately they let us crashed on the couch for the rest of the night (just like 5 hrs) and take a hot shower so I appreciate that. Precious, who manages the front desk is awesome! She went above and beyond to help us. In fact all of the staff were friendly, but Precious and two others (I'm sorry, I don't remember their names) were very helpful. The only issue we had was that sometimes there wasn't someone at the front desk (This happened when Precious was not on site) and no one was around for quite some time. The back door and front window were always ajar, which isn't very safe. I do like the card-swipe entry to th abbe, from USA ~ 29th Jul 2009
