Miraflores House was one of the best hostels I stayed in during my trip to Peru and Bolivia. Francis was fun and had a wealth of info. Lots of travelers passing through sharing info. Ideal safe location. Taxi Green to and from airport EXCELLENT. I stayed twice – once in then out of SA. Two criticisms: Full-time occupants staying at hostel made me feel uncomfortable. They staked claim to wide areas of the room so there was no place but the floor for my items. They were rude and made it quite clear they were not going to move there stuff. Also, twice I needed to be woken for a taxi to the airport. Both times I was not woken up (I know first time second time yada yada). I do highly recommend the place but the people staying there months at a time then feeling infringed upon when someone is using the same bedroom and common areas of the hostel is a bit much.

Francis was extremely helpful to me in arranging travel stuff, phone, etc. A great friend to have. Everyone at this hostel was terrific. Nice patio. VERY friendly. The stairs are a bit of a challenge if you should have any handicap, be sure to ask for a 1st floor room.

This hostel is an excellent place to stay to begin your trip to Peru. Francis is very friendly and goes out of his way to help you plan and organize tours in Lima and all throughout Peru. This hostel was very lively and was a great place to meet new people from around the world. I was sad to leave!

Francis is excellent, very nice and accommodating to traveler's needs, and always willing to help in whatever we needed. The place is a bit dusty but everything was clean and comfortable. Good place to just hang out if tired from traveling - there is free internet and TV for movies. There were also many friendly travelers to chat with.

I would highly encourage anyone traveling to Lima to consider the Miraflores House. It's an extremely cleanly and safe hostel with an owner who is constantly goes out of his way to make any trip to Lima, specifically, and Peru, in general, a valuable one. In my case, he arranged for and drove us on a full day tour of the Paracas National Reserve including boat ride, hike, swimming, sand-boarding on the sand dunes, etc...
