- “ Beware!! This hostel does not respect your reservation. Owner screamed, threatened with a gun, called police when we insisted on the two private rooms we had reserved for husband, self and two children. (is listed as kid-friendly in this site and in HI site). Another guest even came to "break up the fight" even though it was only the owner shouting and banging things by herself. She called my daughters prostitutes (in front of them and other guests). Please see Tripadvisor for other examples. ”

- “ Although I originally booked my stay for only two nights, I ended up extending my stay. The location was excellent - very close to most main attractions, and although I am a female traveling alone, I always felt very safe. Highly recommend this hostel! ”

- “ Very nice place. Cozy and comfortable. Staff is great! The hairy dogs can be a little annoying when you're wearing dark clothes and they try to lie all over you. :-) And walking up the hill every night where the hostel is located can be a little exhausting. I was in the second house, which has this great fireplace and a real home-away-from-home feeling. Only downside was that it only had two bathrooms. ”

- “ Alegria hostel, before we made the reservation in this hostel, we have checked the location in the map, it seemed to be close to the center of candelaria, but it was not...we walked at least five steep blocks which are not easy when you charge a heavy backpack. however, in other aspects, this hostel is highly recommended, the staff are very nice, always willing to help with your request, and the atmosphere is pretty good as well. ”
