To have a great time in Piran close to everything, Alibi hotel is a good option. The kitchen in our room was a nice alternative to going out in restaurants. Beds are ok but the upper beds were unsecure as no barrier in place.

SCANDALOUS! When we called at the hostel one hour before arrival, as requested, we got the surprise to hear that the receptionist was not aware of our booking and that there was no place for us to stay. Even more, we have been told that Alibi did not care about our situation at all, that all hotels in Piran were full and that it was our own problem to find another place for the night.

No internet, no heating, no towels. A shame.

Cons: dirty kitchen and appliances, dirty (milldew) shower, little or no staff service, cold and damp room, terrible beds, no proper heating sytem, terrible and rude staff, no cash refunds. Pros: Location Hostel. I booked 9 nights and I left after only 2 nights....I think this says enough!! For a good stay in Piran go to the Hostel Val!! Better location, character, cleanliness and staff.

The room was freezing. It was a couple of days post christmas and the weather outside was warmer than the room. To their defense we did get a heater, which despite being on all night, it made no difference. There were only two of us in the room (beds for 5 people) and I am glad there was, as we slept in tracksuit and jumpers and had 2 x duvets on each. And the old style of the houses in Piran did not help, which did not go unnoticed. It would have been nice and cool in the summer, however not so cosy in the winter. There was food still on the floor from the previous people, but the rest of the room/ bathroom was clean. Clean sheets were provided. Security was good, door locks on each room and the front door. And whilst the rooms are outdated and not the best, it was a roof over our head for the night, and suited our purposes. Fridge/sink/oven/ stove top provided. It is in a quiet street, and easy to find for us once we got the hang of the street system in Piran. It is not too far from the old square and main area for resturants. The owner wasn't on the coast, and after a quick phone call, the friendly manager arrived 15 minutes later to promptly let us in. There are signs everywhere telling you what not to do, which is good to lay down the house rules, however the one about using the least amount of hot water was ignored on this occassion (we had to keep warm somehow). Overall, it could have been better, but in the grand scheme of things and having stayed in many hostels 3/5. We are aware of the the high taxes and rates for hostel owners/managers in Slovenia, but a little extra heating would have been nice. Despite being cold for most of the night, we did enjoy our stay in Piran, and would definatley recommend staying in Piran.

a bit hard to find (mainly just due to piran's street system) so take them up on the pick up from the bus! but very friendly staff and great rooms.

The owner was really friendly and helpful during our stay. We had a great time there. So many great memories:) We were almost like a big family there. The hostel is very clean, safe, free internet, nice atmosphere, very good location...Highly recommended! THANK YOU FOR SO MUCH FUN! ALIBI is THE BEST!!! :)
