Very nice staff, very friendly and homely atmosphere, nice rooms all located in a quiet but quite central area. Why should I stay anywhere else? :) Johann, from Germany ~ 20th Oct 2009

Alice in Wonderland is for sure a recommendable place to stay in Rome. Roos are nice and very clean, the street is quite and close enough to all sights (fine reachable by metro...). You only should write a mail when you are going to arrive exactly, because there is no real recapltion and it can take you an houre of waiting to get inside the hostel... This place was great for the price! We shared a whole loft/terrace and sunroom with our family members on the same floor. The breakfast was good and the owner was very helpful and nice! The metro was just down the street and there was also a supermarket not far away. I'd recommend it for anybody not looking for a "spa" type of hotel to stay in while in Rome. This place is really more of a bed and breakfast than a hostel. But however you classify it, we loved it! It was way more home-y than the hostels we stayed in in London and Paris. We had a big room with a queen size bed. The place looks brand new and everything is really tastefully decorated. There's no staff around during the day, which could be frustrating, but when they are there, they're wonderful hosts. It's a small, family-run establishment. Great experience.

This place was horrible! first off we get there and the owner tells us to go around the block to our room. our room is filthy! there is a sign posted that they are proud that they only clean the rooms every other day. the bathroom is covered in hair. Our bed had hair and even toe nail clippings in the sheets. the following morning we go back to the main building to have breakfast, like the owner tells us to, and we couldn't even get in to eat the food we paid for! Very easy to get to. Maxi and his father made me feel right at home. Small, quiet and family run, it was perfect for me. Philip, from USA ~ 11th Jun 2009
