  • The staff was very nice and helpful. There are no hidden taxes and breakfast for free. I would say that the breakfast was the best: Fresh Fruit, every kind of cereal, bread, Coffee, Tea, Juices, Water.... The rooms had everything you need, the beds were comfortable. When I counted it right there were like 2 Bathrooms and showers in our floor- believe it or not- it was never occupied when I needed to go there and it was clean. Of course, the things were not the newest, but the price was good!

  • Great location. Staff are strange and not very welcoming. Sharing a single bathroom between two rooms wasn't the greatest and being on the top bunk with no safety guard and a constant creeking was uncomfortable and difficult to get to sleep in. I was alone so maybe the experience would have been better with others that I knew..

  • Nice hostel. Clean, convenient. Helpful Staff. Good Location. 2 blocks away from the subway. If you don't turn off the heater the room becomes the ninth circle of hell hot, thankfully you can adjust the heater. Also i requested to change my room and it was done in 5 minutes with no excuses. Would go back and recommend.

  • The hostel was pretty clean and organized. The showers were pretty weird though - changed every half minute from extremely hot to freezing. The promised free wifi did not exist, since hurricane Sandy the wifi in the whole area was down and hadn't been fixed so far. That was pretty annoying. The all you can eat breakfast was to die for though! They had just anything you can think of! If their wifi would really work, I would choose this hostel again.

  • Good central location, just a couple blocks from a subway station and lots of dining options. Room was kept way too warm; had to open window to keep room at a manageable temperature, but that allowed the city noise to come in and kept me from sleeping soundly.

  • The American Dream hostel it´s great, have really good breakfast for a hostel that is already included in the price but don´t have a common area to hang out with the people from the hostel (Ex: bar).

  • Hostel is at a central location, very clean and offers a great breakfast. Only the heating in our double was tough to set. Either it was too hot or too cold to sleep. It took us two nights until we had it right.

  • Everyone was very accomodating and upbeat even with the power outage. We enjoyed the morning breakfast, although the kitchen area was small. The room was great, the showers and bathrooms were clean.

  • When you walk into the building there's a not so wonderful smell but the facility looks nice and the rooms and bathroom were clean. I was here for Halloween and right before the storm and I had a wonderful time. I will stay here again.

  • Very clean, friendly staff and great location. I left my earrings and glasses in American Dream Hostel. The staff helped mail them to my next destination before I left the U.S.A. I am glad I chose American Dream Hostel and recommend whoever looks for a comfortable and good-deal stay.

  • Our Stay at American Dream Hostel couldn't have been better. The bathrooms were always clean, our room was clean apart from having hair on the sheets (when we told them, they were very apologetic and replaced them instantly). The Breakfast was by far the best breakfast we had throughout our travels in America. The location is fantastic, we didn't like the hustle and bustle or times square so it was nice staying just out of it all. Subway is only a 3 min walk, however plenty to see locally. :)

  • The night receptionist was really weird, annoyed. Especially when I probably woke her up at night, she didn't even answer and gave me that evil look :D. But the receptionist during the day made up for it.
