Very nice place. It was clean and you felt safe by staying there. They had a nice bar where some people were sitting and drinking. The only problem was the nightlife around the hostel, it practically didn't exist. So you had to take the U-bahn or a cab when you went out at night.

40 mins walk away from main train station, but relatively close to the underground. several good, cheap eating places nearby. not much to do entertainmentwise, you have to make your own fun. rooms are basic but more than adequate.

I came to Berlin for an art conference and booked a private suite with a bathroom. The bathroom was very clean, the bed was nice, AND though it is a hostel it was not loud like some of the hostels I have been to in the past. U bhan station very near by. AND there is a great little bar across the street for a laid back drink called SUBITO. I enjoyed myself at Amstel House.

Amstel House is one of the best hostel i've ever been. We weren't in a dorm but a 2 bed room. Everything was clean and the staff was really nice and devoted, and also smiling which is very rare. The subway station is very close. So i really recommend this hostel.

The rooms were nice and the staff was really sweet. The distance to the subway was good so it didn't take to long getting out to the sights. Nice breakfast and a good atmosphere.

Zu wenig Sanitäranlagen, bzw. lästig, dass es in den Duschen keine Vorhänge gibt und somit Überschwemmungen und nasse Anziehsachen nicht zu vermeiden sind.

Great Place. New and clean. Near a good street for food and entertainment. Nice staff. Close to several bus and train stops. Lobby good place to meet people. Great bed. No lockers in 4 bedroom suits. I will stay there again.
