As i can still see from my booking details my reservation was supposed to be for 3 days. But as i came the hostel for my check in they told me that i just have reservation for 1 day! I want you to pay me back that you took out of my credit card as a reservation deposit right now! Cause i just paid 59.40$ for 1 night. The hostel reception has no idea about the deposit. Well I slept and work up the next morning, and the commute to Lower Manhattan was swift. Very close proximity to the subway and I slept in an even worse hostel (in lower Manhattan) the following night. Make sure you are truly pushed against the wall, then you may accept a night in this place. Its not a total nightmare, its not the worst hostel in New York, but its an experience best forgotten. Remember that you will get only one bedroom in the apartment, so probably you will share the apt. (bathroom, kitchen, living) with other guest. In our case it was shared with another couple. Also it is not very clean and the mattress of the bed it was more than good to retire, but it is quiet and very good located for subway and buses, even when you are in Harlem, far from the centre of Manhattan. The apartments were not suitable for a hostel website. For example: the office was not always staffed, there was no information provided about tourism, there were no towels/soap/toilet paper available. The building was left open all night- did not lend itself to a feeling of safety. The location was not very convenient and the neighbourhood did not have a particularly friendly atmosphere about it- quite a few of the buildings on the street were dilapidated with boarded-up windows.
