stairs to the fourth floor are above some beds in the male dorm, they should put up a sign saying tread lightly on stairs cos its very loud. also they should request that muslims do their predawn praying outside the dorm as its hard to sleep when someone is getting up and down next your bed at 4am.
I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay Jordan and a sign asking those on the 4th floor to be mindful of those on the 3rd floor is a great idea. Regarding the other request, I spoke to some Muslim guests and they said that if Christians stop entering the dorm room drunk out of their minds at 3:00 in the morning that they will move their prayers to the exterior of the dorm. ;-)

The Apple Hostel in Phily is very well located, you can easily get to the attractions of the city by walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is safe and for those who love disco there are a lot around the hostel. The only thing that bothered me is that they shut down the lights at 11 p.m. For the rest it is really a good place to stay in. If you don't want to be charged just sign up for Hosteling International. The cost of the stay would be cheaper, just 34 $.
Hi Cherifa, I'm happy that you enjoyed your stay! The reason we control the lights in the dorm rooms is so that guests coming back from the bars late at night don't walk into the room and turn on the lights, waking everyone up. There are reading lamps at every bed so if you aren't ready to go to sleep at 11:00 pm you can still have light.
