we were disturbed by folk not respecting Hostel rules about noise curfew. Our bed room backed on to the shower, and both nights folk were choosing to have one as late as 1.30 in the morning!

Terrific location and very clean, friendly hostel. Need some lockers in the rooms would be my only suggestion.

About 10-15 minute walk from the Royal Mile so a bit out of the way but not too bad. Only small lockers for valuables, not luggage. Really well equipped kitchen if you feel like doing some cooking. Very homely, communal feel, very much like being invited into someone's house. Staff seemed highly disinterested but other travelers were very friendly and overall a great experience. Would recommend.

The rooms were spacious, which was nice. I was turned off by all this list of rules - they have obviously had problems with previous clients. The staff (Mary) were a bit spacey in their organization.
