I was extremely disappointed with this place. To the point where I strongly thought of finding another place for the night. The staff was very nice, but they were in the middle of remodeling so nothing was as they said it was. Most of the security lockers didn't work and instead you could store it in the office for free. I wasn't very comfortable with my valuables just being tossed next to the reception desk. As for location, It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the city center, and I was advised not to do it at night by a local,(being female and alone) so keep that in mind. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to girls traveling alone. I was one of two girls in the hostel. I felt extremely insecure the whole time, to the point where I left Belfast at 6 am just to get out of there as soon as possible.

Charmless hostel undergoing sorely need renovation. Bathrooms cramped and unclean, oen setting for the taps - 3rd degree burns only. BYO skin transplant. Mildew and urine abounded in toilet. Temperature in the gents and the open windows are most certainly not flattering at this time of year. Noise levels from other residents approximated jumbo jet engine volume with no sign of interference from staff. Limited linen available - assorted towels - ? did you leave a towel at Ark? On the plus side - very close to town, walkable. Summary: Cheap and you get what you pay for.

The Ark was a great place to stay, the staff were very helpful and knew all the best places to see and eat. Enjoyed it so much I will be back again.

Neither shower I used would actually heat up. The place is clean and spacious, but there was not much going on here. Its over the road from a pub though.

The hostel is a small but nice one. However, the noise is quite a problem.

6 of us booked a 6 bed dorm so we were hoping not to share a room but we were put in a 14 bed dorm which we were a bit disappointed with. Other than that the hostle was lovely and clean, staff were friendly and we enjoyed our stay.

Great location right in the heart of the college area--very safe, with the botanical gardens close by and plenty of shops and restaurants.
