It looked nicer on the website. Our room was right next to the public shower, only a door with a (basically) broken lock was inbetween. The noise from the club downstairs was far too loud one night. Martin, from Germany ~ 24th Aug 2009

Would say this was the worst hostel I stayed at in the balkans. It uses its supposed status as an 'arthouse' hostel to excuse poor cleanliness, poor security and staff of mixed competence. Ok, the bar is definitely quite cool, as is the art show in reception, but does this excuse dirty, cramped rooms with no bedsheets on one out of two nights? Or one dirty toilet between 30 people? Or sleeping bag going missing and staff not haviung a clue?
Hello , I�m really confused and I must say, that for me it is not that easy to address such comment� It is obvious that according to you, there is more than one issue to answer to� In that sense I would like to address each and every one of them, one by one. Art-Hostel is already well known for being artistically encouraging location. I start with �well known� as I am thankful, to all of the artists from over 100 countries, which have exhibited their talents here and the ones who are still to come. It is a fact that our events program is already booked for the following seasons�We like art. You are more than welcome to comment our staff. However, doing it while you are still staying here will help us meet your criteria, of course to the best of our abilities. I must confront the thought implied by you that our staff is deliberately setting the rest rooms and bathrooms in such condition�Ironically, we had to hire not one, but two, very unfriendly to us ladies, to try and take care of all the mess our staff is leaving behind. Ironically, they are trying every single day�There are 4 toilets and 4 separated shower facilities in the building. I also strongly believe that anyone working here will help you find your way around the city and the rest of the country. Everyone will gladly talk to you on different subjects and almost everyone plays chess too. I sincerely apologies if there was a sheets issue! If that was so, there will be nothing more than I could say� Some times the hostel gets a bit overpopulated and such mistake could happen, which is no excuse for us�But for two days and a missing sleeping bag on top of that, is trying to be more creative than I am in this response. I also agree with you, regarding the fact that we are still trying to find an artistic concept for lockers. Therefore we do have a vault, for the ones who needs it. In conclusion, I would like to express my apologies to you if we could not satisfy your acquaintance and invite you for a challenging stay with us again. the hostel has good localitation and the staff were so friendly, dont expect luxury or the same standar of 1 hostel in europe this is bulgary, but ok u can survive there.
Our place is really not the luxury ones... but we have a lot of artmosphere and we dont have insects... if someone brings .. well, we have abonament for bug killers..:-)) best regards, boris
