  • Locationwise was excellent. But I simply hate the long queue at the lift. My upper deck bedroom for 4 - the bed frame was broken. They should fix or change them as safety is important to avoid any incidental accident. The attached toilet in the 4 bedroom is great but very compact not easy to take a shower. But for a person who just want to spend the whole day out is perfect stay as you leave early morning & only go back to sleep in the hostel late in the evening. Rates still expensive.

  • If you just need a place to sleep it's totally fine, as long as you can endure loud traffic noises. (I guess there are also some rooms with a window to the backside of the building, but I had one facing Nathan Road). You don't have much space, but I guess that's a general problem in Hong Kong. Regardless it's a cheap hostel and the staff is friendly and helpful if you have questions. It's not far away from the subway station (East) Tsim Sha Tsui, so it's easy to travel around the city.

  • I've been to 3 hostels in Chungking and this was the worst of them. My bunk bed was tied together with a plastic bag. People that worked for the hostel weren't very friendly, constantly walked in and out of common area talking business and not being friendly. Run down but sanitary. Those that want sparkling clean hostels will not be impressed.

  • Some initial concerns when our room was given away (supposed to arrive at 11pm we arrived at 2am) but we were quickly given another room. The staff were nice, the location was great, the room was clean and comfortable. Can't complain at all. And of course, though it's not strictly to do with the specific hostel, the atmosphere of the Chungking mansions is great.

  • Ashoka is a nice hotel which has a perfect location if you don't mind there are many indian around you. I'm sorry but I don't intend to offend! I feel scared whenever I go back to the hotel just because I am a Chinese. And my body is itching while I'm living there,it seems not really clean. But I have to say that all staffs there are very nice!

  • The room was 5 square-meters and the bathroom one square-meter. So, while sitting on the toilette you can take a shower and brush your teeth :-) If you are taller than 170 cm, you cannot sleep in a straight position, course the bed is an adapted mattress between the walls. One person can move in the room, the other have to stay on the bed. all in all like a jail with very strange people in and around and in the house... It is in Chunking Mansion. 13 and 16 floor. An experience at itself.

  • Everything was what I expected from the hostel. It was clean and safe. The building is in the ideal location for traveling around Hong Kong, and although busy, the security of the rooms was quite good (ie. magneting pass to get to room hallway, and then individual key for your room).

  • The location is great, the bus from the airport leaves you just at the door. It is clean but there was only one toilet/shower on our floor. The room was pretty small but I guess that is normal in HongKong especially in a cheap hotel. Good value for money, the staff are really kind.
