I loved the athens backpackers and would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling to Athens. The location is perfect for sightseeing around the Acropolis or visiting neighborhoods like Plaka and Monastiraki. The area is safe and the accomodations were great. Good location, near to the Acropolis. Staff pretty helpful. But keep those windows closed! Mosqitoes eat you every night! Breakfast strange - in other location and only toast with hard boiled eggs and instant coffee. Roof bar kind of weird. The hostel is great if you are up for a bit of fun and socialising with others. Our room had a spectacular view of the acropolis, and the plaka district was well within walking distance. Secure and relatively clean, I would definitely recommend it! James, from Australia ~ 12th Oct 2009

Was upgraded to the Studios and it was great! Hostel and Studios are around the corner from the new museum and at the base of the Acropolis. So close, I couldn't even believe it. Would stay again! Vinh, from USA ~ 27th Sep 2009

Athens Backpackers is a great hostel if you are traveling alone. Breakfast and happy hour on the roof are both great ways to meet other travelers. I must say that everything at Athens Backpackers was perfect. I stayed in the new building, which is only a couple blocks away from the other, and it is very nice. clean comfortable rooms with AC, kitchen, bathroom, couch, and decks looking over the streets of athens. it is minutes away from the acropolis, zeus' temple and many other attractions. The subway is close by which can get you anywhere, buy the reduced (,50euro cent) ticket if you a student under the age of 25. perfect place Vincent, from USA ~ 7th Sep 2009
