It was very laid back and personal. I really enjoyed this backpacker. They also offered a free breakfast with some wonderful Frank Sinatra playing in the background. The location is right next to the Ferry Terminal which was really convenient. I would recommend Atlantis anytime! Collette, from USA ~ 9th Feb 2012

Did not like this one. The aircon was set wrong and the room was like a fridge until they turned it completely off. The wifi internet is incredibly slow and disconnects all the time. The walls of rooms are thin as tin foil, you can hear the neighbour next door farting, talking, etc. Also the doors closes really loud so it was quite impossible to sleep with all the noise. Staff also didn't seem to care, instead they sat in the common room making noise themselves and drinking. Yippee. Nice to wak Olli, from Finland ~ 28th Dec 2011

We stayed here for a night and didn't make use of the facilities, but it is very close to the bus to Kaikoura-Christchurch which is super convenient. The bathrooms were fairly clean and the fireplace in the main area was nice. Melissa, from Canada ~ 14th Oct 2011

Nice hostel, though kind of strange. The owners are pretty odd, as is the decor, but fun nonetheless. The room didn't have a window, which left it a bit stuffy, but on the other hand they have a swimming pool. Leah, from USA ~ 15th Mar 2011
