- “ Many lockers were provided. Very strange location indeed, next to "entertainment district" of Kyoto. However, as it's Japan, its still a safe location and easily accessible to shopping districts. Staff have very good English and were very helpful, especially regarding buses. The top floor lounge was the absolute best !!!!! Love the food and the honor system and communal computer. ”

- “ The best Hostel I've been at so far, the atmosphere is just amazing (there are always people to talk to in the living room, giving recommendations, sharing experiences, going to karaoke together...), the staff is very friendly and helpful, the location is good and the beds are really wonderful (not like in most japanese hostels where the mattresses are maybe 3 cm thick and you feel like you actually sleep on the ground). ”

- “ Our group spent 2 nights in Ayado, and it was great value for our money! It was new ans clean and the personel gave us all the information we needed to see the city. I recommend this place to anyone who doesn't mind sleeping in a dormitory and has little money to spend. ”

- “ Super convenient location right by train & subway stations and big shopping arcades. It's also located on an artsy street with antique shops, and there are a lot of little shrines nearby. Facilities are nice, the guys are friendly and speak great English, and there's a huge common area with cheap drinks and snacks. Dorms have curtains, lockers, and big clean showers. ”

- “ I have absolutely nothing to complain about in regards to A-yado Gion. The staff was wonderful (and spoke good English, if that is a concern), the facilities were clean, and the location was perfect for just hopping outside and exploring. I would be happy to stay here again. ”

- “ I can't say enough about how clean this hostel is. It is the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. The toilets and showers are in individual rooms so you have added privacy. The staff was great and they spoke English which was nice. The women's room isn't very spacious, but the beds are comfortable and the tight quarters are manageable (probably average for dorm-style hostels). ”

- “ nice staffs and clean hostel. Very reasonable price and great location (Gion the heart of Kyoto!). I will use this hostel again if I trip to Kyoto by my self. Just a little advice to hostel.inn/yado please make a clearer explanation how to reach this hostel. Because I found 2 explanation which one suggest me to stop at Gion Bus Stop, and another explanation suggest me to stop in Chion in Bus Stop.It was so complicated for the traveler who never visit Kyoto because they can`t distinguish them! ”

- “ Very average hostel...staff was very willing to help when you could find them. Nice eating area with food/snacks to buy. Security, anyone could walk in off the street, and if desk was unmanned, they could walk into my room easily. Beginning cleaning @ 8am when people are still sleeping = not cool. Otherwise, OK place to stay ”
