Back of Chapel in Melbourne, Australia

Location was great, a 5 minute walk to the nearest tram stop. The building is quite old and not maintained. Amenities are not that great, kitchen is functional but the bathrooms need an overhaul. They do offer a free breakfast but it is hardly anything to write home about. So for this it rates POORLY, don't be fooled. Lastly cleanliness is another weak point, the 6 bed dorm style room was filthy, but this maybe due to the borders that Back of Chapel attracts. The big question is "would I go b

Thanks for your comments James. It is a shame that for $18 that you paid per night you did not find cereals, toast and spreads, teak coffee and milk enough. Unfortunately the dorm you stayed in had long termers who were packing up to leave the day after you arrived, and you should really have gone into another dorm.I believe you wanted to walk to the beach, but in June it was very cold and wet, it rained every day you stayed with us, however if you wished to walk in october to may, you would find it a comfortable 10 - 15 minutes walk depending on your fitness We have some wonderful guests stay wih us who clearly love our facilities and the ambience, however our bathrooms are being renovated and we are adding another wing as we dont have the room for all the guests who wish to stay with us and enjoy our cheap bar, great facilities and location

dorms and tv room are very small but decent place, very close by to chapel street's cafe's bars and shops and staff are friendly.

its a pity you didnt see our very large tv room ajacent to the bar. we have a cosy tv room which is really the internet room but holds a 100 inch tv and another tv room next to the bar with a large plasma tv. this room holds around 50 people If you wish to come and check it out again you are welcome but how long did you stay
