Hostel near train station, but quite a walk from seaside. No cooking, just a fridge, kettle and microwave but no cooking utensils , 1 cup, 1bowl, etc so pretty hopeless, no common area either to chat to other travellers and unfortunately I am having problems getting 1 nights accommodation back from patrick who took it maually out of my bank account without my acceptance, So beware if he does not swipe the card [ said the machine was 'broken'] and wants to load the numbers in manually..

Great location, very clean. 15 minute walk to the old town. Secure as you need to get through 3 doors to reach your room. Patrick is a great host. Unless you need a full kitchen to cook, this is a great hostel. Not a party hostel so a great place to catch up on sleep after a busy day sight seeing around Nice.

Patrick is very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are bunk beds with a sink. There is only one toilet for each sex in the whole place, but it is wuite small and this never seemed an issue. We really enjoyed our time in Nice and had very firendly room mates every night. Go to Wayne's bar in the old town, dancing on tables very fun!

no check out counter, I was leaving in a rush and had to leave my key on a side table.
Very clean and early rises and no noise at night and no drinking. Which is good but a bit boring if you wanna have some fun.
The hostel next door is cheaper and looks more fun. they have suites in the same building and run by two old ladies that run a restaurant with prices set fromt the 70's. amazing
Bonjour,
You stayed with us for 3 nights. You were originally booked in the 6-bed room but you were given a 4-bed room with services and even then you complain.
Firstly, I don’t think it was at all boring for you in the hostel because you were always drunk and sleeping throughout the day! Every night you were drunk. One night I just checked on our guests at 2 am and I saw you drunk and sleeping on the stairs in the building, unable even to enter the hostel!
Secondly, you were still sleeping in the morning of the day when you were supposed to check out (check out time is least 10:30 am). We informed you that your check-out time was due but you said that you wanted to stay one extra night! When we finished cleaning the hostel at 2 pm, you were still sleeping, but you left in the afternoon without even paying. We did NOT find the keys on the side table but on your bed! In this way you violated our hostel rules and even cheated us!
Thirdly, while staying at our hostel you did not respect our hostel rules and you did not communicate effectively with staff .
Fourthly, why didn’t you move out to the other hostel if that was cheaper than our hostel (only for 1 Euro less) and looked to have more fun? It was your choice. We did not force you to stay with us, and the more so, you did not even pay us. Hide Owner CommentsRead Owner Comments gregory, from Canada ~ Sep 23 2008

i could not get rid of the smell long after i left.. also, as linen was provded only one sheet per bed.
It was extremely hot when you stayed at our hostel in Nice, Côte D'azur, and if you were sweating at night then you could have asked us to change your bed sheet, which we would have done so. Next time should you choose to stay at our hostel, we will provide you with any number of dry sheets you want. Hide Owner CommentsRead Owner Comments Vladislav, from Bulgaria ~ Sep 23 2008

The rooms are really clean. There are only 2 showers and 2 toilets for the entire hostel. There is a kitchen but only has a refrigerator and sink NO stove to cook. As far as meeting people it really isn't a social hostal. Patrick is really nice. He does close the doors from 10:30 to 2:00 to clean, so you are not allwed inside for that time.
I was sorry to hear that in the kitchen no stove to cook and close the door between 10:30-14:00.
1). We never had a problem with showers and toilet, you are no reason to wrote about it.
2). We do not have a kitchen! We have a place to eat (with refrigerator , microwave and free coffee & tea)
3). On your booking confirmation you are clearly informed that we have a lockout time from 10:30 to 14:00, during which we clean the rooms! You have to respect our hostel’s lockout time!
Perhaps you have got a wrong hostel. Hide Owner CommentsRead Owner Comments Claudia, from El Salvador ~ Sep 11 2008

The owner / manager and the place are lovely and I happily recommend this place but it is not the most social place (it has no common area) if that is what you are afer.

This hostel is my absolute favorite. The place is cheap, clean (the showers are as clean as can be!) and Patrick is fantastic!
