When I came to this place the first time, I have been confused, because I didn't know, that it was more like an appartment, than a hostel. It took me some time, to get used to the atmosphere at this place. But once I figured out, I realized that I'm surrounded buy very nice and kindly people who stay there. They took me for a breakfast, as well as for the self-made supper. At least it depends on the own character if you like this place and atmosphere or not. This is a regular apartment on the 17th floor of a building on a main drag that cuts Huai Hai Lu, one of the main local hot spots near the French Quarter. It's about 15 minutes walk from the Shanghai Metro, which is great. The prettiest room I had in China. You can get around by bus or taxi also. The owner Xiao speaks excellent English. It was a very nice place to relax. It is basically someones flat which they are using as a hostel whilst they are away. Good selection of DVDs, nice kitchen. Good place to just relax for a couple of days. Not a great location. Matthew, from England ~ 18th Dec 2008
