- “ Chris is a gent! So helpful an cheerful! There was always a shuttle available to bring or collect us to/from the station. We felt very safe in backpackers :) ”

- “ My stay at backpackers was nothing short of amazing. Chris is the guy you really want to meet because he has such an amazing personality and great attitude. Never fails to offer me a ride to the nearest station and make sure I'm well taken care of. Thanks Chris and Backpackers! I'll definitely be back! ”

- “ "Backpackers hostel" is a somewhat misleading name since it seems to have several year-round guests. Also, it is FAR away from pretty much anything in Boston, and not especially close to the subway either. I would not recommend anyone to stay here, there are far better hostels in Boston. Staff was nice though so I feel bad about saying it. ”

- “ I was an athlete for the 2013 Boston Marathon. Backpackers hostel was wonderful to me before the race, and made a good effort to cater to us in the wake of the bombings. I am thankful for the wonderful service and home-like appeal of Backpackers. Thank you! —Riley from Chicago ”

- “ This is great place to stay. Staff is extremely helpful and nice. The only issue is that location is not that close, but the hostel provides a ride which facilitates a lot the transportation. ”

- “ This is a good hostel and really nice staff. If you got a problem they will do their best to solve it. The location is okey, u can walk to the nearest subway station in 15 minutes, and then it will take you 7 min by train in to the center of Boston. The rooms were clean and the hostel got nice wifi/computer possibilities. They even serve breakfast, even though its not the best breakfast its a nice touch. ”

- “ The staff are super nice and they try their best to make your stay in the hostel as comfortable as possible! Though the hostels might seem to be a little bit further away from city center, the free shutter solves the problem! Besides, Boston is really small, it is walkable distance! If you are staying for more than one night, you will surely find the location is not a problem at all and it saves you money! ”

- “ I cannot detail accurately enough how great the stay was. The atmosphere was so comfortable and everyone was beyond friendly at all times. Let me take a moment though to rant and rave about Juliann. While my friend and I were staying, we needed transportation to and from the train station several times. She was willing to take us each time we needed. Once we arrived and had to go right back, without any aggravation she immediately drove us back. She made this trip and my stay an incredible time. ”

- “ This was my first time ever traveling alone using a hostel. When I got there I was shocked by how friendly the staff (particularly Steve) was to me and the very first night I was able to make friends from Australia, canada, california and from my own hometown of Brooklyn NY (who knew?!). Its an extremely warm and welcoming place, the facilities are all clean and it has good wifi, free breakfast, a longue area, a kitchen and a pool table. I will be staying here again if I'm ever in Boston. ”

- “ So although not the most comfy of places, it served its purpose well, the place felt moderately clean, facilities worked, pretty secure place. Location is a bit far off so not ideal, but that ties into why its pretty cheap. But what really puts Backpackers Hostel above and beyond is their friendly staff and service. They were willing to drive out a large group to the Boston Convention Center everyday and really tried to go above and beyond what even most hotels do. ”

- “ 150% for Staff, extremly friendly and helpful, they offer a shuttle to Wellington Station, whenever you want to go (8 am to 11 pm). Try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Location is the only thing thats not so good, but with the shuttle its okay. This is not a 70% rating hostel, it is better !! If you don´t mind driving in and out, go there. ”

- “ The only problem with the hostel is the attached washrooms, which seem to have broken doors and lights , other than that if you can manage with the common washrooms this is a good place to crash. They offer a pool table, a big screen TV, awesome internet speed and coffee in the morning. I would come back again. ”

- “ No, do not expect a five star hotel, since... it is a hostel. I have read some previous reviews where some people seemed somehow disappointed by their stay at backpackers, but I have to say that, even though the wireless was not the best in the rooms (only good in the lounge), the place is clean, the shuttle is VERY practical, and the staff people ARE nice! I definitely enjoyed. Met people. Dunkin Donuts and restaurants around, yumm! Good to see what the outside of Boston looks like! ”

- “ This hostel is not easy to find, and it's far from downtown, but the staff compensates this disadvantage by offering a shuttle service which charges the customer 5 bucks to take him to the nearest subway station. Only two female showers, very small. When I stepped into this hostel, I didn't feel really good; it needs a couple of physical improvements and a modern touch. Judging from the decoration, the owner/staff must be big fans of The Beatles, which gives colour to an otherwise languid place. ”
