This hostel was my favorite one! The staff is absolutely the friendliest and most helpful. The location isn't the easiest to find but it is very close to the Bell and Drum Tower as well as the Great Mosque and shopping. Would definitely recommend the hostel.
I loved staying at this great hostel (sadly only for 2 nights) and would recommend it to anybody going to Xi'an. Backpax still very new, the atmosphere is really nice and the staff is just amazing -they are all very friendly and helpful and speak excellent English! The location is good too, it's central but not too central if you know what I mean. If I get the chance to visit Xi'an again at some point, I'll definitely stay at Backpax again!

Great staff- very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The Hostel has a very unique atmosphere. Possibly the best Western food you will eat in China!!

Overall excellent hostel. The beds were a bit hard and the carpets were a bit musky though.
Incredibly stunning. Like walking into a very cool boutique hostel. The decor in the 'communal' areas is modern and kitsh at the same time very cool. My only criticism is that much less attention to detail has been paid to the rooms which are very basic (could do with some coat hooks for example) and many don't have a window which is great for sleeping through the days but a bit stuffy! Staff are really friendly and helpful.
