The best hostel you can book in Irkutsk! Clean and fun, with a good location. Jack is very nice and we had a great one dag tour to the baikal lake.

Efficient, very clean, but not overly large. Internet would be a plus, but the english speaking staff, largely linguistics grad students, were excellent.

The hostel is fine and the location is great, the only problem is the staff were a little too gruff for a hostel. It's a hostel, it's supposed to be fun! We had a much better experience at the Baikal Hostel where we stayed for a night.

we stayed at both baikaler locations but the first on lenina is definitely the better option, as the other is out of the way a bit. staff are helpful and there is some information, but there are no additional services such offered.

Baikaler hostel was overbooked so even though we'd booked 3 months previous we got moved! Ended up in a private house which, to be fair was lovely and clean and of course a whole house to ourselves. Only problem was we never got to meet anyone in Irkutsk as all the other travellers were in the hostel!

we really enjoyed our stay here and jack was really helpful and accomodating to our needs.beds comfy the only thing i would say against it is that it needs some more pots and pans in the kitchen for cooking and maybe locks on the bedroom doors(obviously the front door is secure etc). we were there in winter and felt safe leving our stuff about, but maybe when its full it might be a little less secure. but nice place and great location!
If you can get past the lingering smell of sewerage on the stairwell, you've made it to a friendly, clean little hostel with a great host.
Jack kindly put us up in his own apartment as bookings had been messed up. Thanks Jack! We stayed 2 nights there and 1 in the hostel which was small but very clean and homely. Would be better if kitchen could be used as common room and for cooking, not just breakfast.
Jack very friendly and helpful, hostel very, very clean. Quiet and relaxed but no common room, so not great for meeting people.
