There was never anyone there, no cooking at their restuarant, and our bungalow was never cleaned in the 5 days that we were there. At the very end all they waited for was their money, and did nothing for it.

Really loved my stay. Great staff, excellent food, and friendly owners. As stated in the description, these bungalows are not on Lonely Beach, but the walk is not far, and if you are looking for a quiet, comfortable, and friendly stay in Koh Chang, I highly recommend Bailan Family Bungalows. Thanks for a good stay David and staff. Hope to see you all again someday.

VERY basic accomodation. We've stayed in many different hostels/bungalows/huts of all sorts before and I'm sorry to say this just didn't cut it. Even at this level you expect a few things like netting on the windows and maybe paved shower. As a result the place CRAWLED. So if you're a bug lover, no worries, if not I'd give it a miss. The staff were very friendly and understood when we changed 7 nights into 1 with no hassle. The area is really pretty average too. No shops/ATM etc for basics and only 1-2 restaurants in easy walking distance. The beach is very rocky with onlya tinybit of sand. If you wanted a bit more happening and a FAR superior beach, lonely beach is only 5 mins north and MUCH better. Or for another really quiet spot with better facilities try Had Kai Mook, further north agan.

We booked this because we were afraid we wouldn't find accomodation on the island. We were wrong. There are so many places to stay on Koh Chang for such a low price. The bungalows are fine, but there are a million places with on equal par with this one, but better location and equal price. It was a pain to walk 20 minutes to get to the beach up a hilly road. The owner is a nice guy who speaks good english and is very helpful. However, he is not there all the time, and the man he has in charge is very hard to communicate with for even the simplist of requests.

Nice little bungalows, cafe's good. 10/15 min walk to nice beach. Quiet place, which is what i was looking for, so pretty pleased overall

We were expecting our huts to be near a beach but there was no beach and it was a long hilly walk to get to the nearest beach or use a songthaw - 50 baht per person min. each way or take a risk riding a motor bike and there are plenty of accidents on koh chang with them. The huts were ok quite clean but the beds were the hardest we had in our travels and we found some hard beds! David the manager was a top bloke though and did his best to inform us of what activities to do.

The huts were very small compared with others we have stayed in. The food in the restaurant wasn't up to much [tea and coffee in one cup?], but the owner was a very nice person and arranged a fishing trip for the guests and also transported them to a local festival.
