Great activities coordination and nightlife. Beds were rather uncomfortable and rooms did not lock. No lockers either, but did not have any problem with stuff getting taken. There is a bar with a great happy hour and cheapest food in Interlaken. Great life music too.

If your looking for a quiet night sleep take your ear plugs. Night club below, lots of screaming American teenage kids shouting its all so\"cool dude\"! Food gave us diahorea, flies everywhere - b Breakfast not very good - worst on our travels, best to get your own at the bakery opposite hostel. P.s showers were the worst on our travels, crampt, falling to pieces with a tendancy to scold you!!!

Though Balmers doesn\'t have the greatest facilities (bed was the hardest mattress I\'ve slept on) it is definitely the place to stay in Interlaken. Most of the younger crowd comes here at night from other hostels because it has such a great atmosphere. For those traveling alone you should defintely stay here to meet people, everyone is very open to meeting each other. The staff is great and very helpful. Make sure to bring a lock for your luggage because there are not lockers and rooms are kept unlocked. The location is a quick walk out of town, but the whole town is walkwable anyway. No doubt I would stay here again if I came, but make sure not to stay in more than a 4-6 person room if you want any chance at sleep!

the atmosphere of the party ruins the wonderful peace of interlaken. i feel sorry for all the residents who live around balmers. one night we had a guy spew in the sink in our room which was siutated about 2m from my head. the following night, the police were called because of a fight and someone was pepper sprayed. don't expect much sleep or relaxation unless you drink and stay up late.

It was an awesome experience to stay in your hostel ! It epitomises Swiss hospitality at its best. In a small place,so many activities of different types, from Piano to Table Tennis, are available. The staff was very pleasant & so helpful in guiding us to un-known locations -- and most importantly, all could speak good English. Look forward to coming back again. Au Revoir Balmers Herberge !

Balmer's is the place to be. However, wifi and other internet access was expensive. The food was tasty, the bar was fun, and the private rooms were cozy and super comfortable. The free spring water was delicious and the shower water pressure was off the charts. We loved it, staff was nice enough...we will be back to enjoy it again.

Nice place, clean, a lot of Northern Americans if you like that sort of thing, good atmosphere even though you have to vacate the social rooms at midnight sharp, the selection of adventure activities is excellent. However, there are no locks on the doors... what?

Great hostel! Not the friendliest staff but we weren't there to be pampered by the receptionist. I'd definitely go back!
