I think the room was to small, we had only two beds and a wood on the wall to put a key or something to drink on it! That´s it. It was a pitty. Carolin, from Germany ~ 26th Dec 2011

of course the tours were great. The location couldn't have been worse. You are in the middle of no where. It was my first time at a hostel and the staff really didn't 'show you the ropes' so to speak. You really had to ask around and beg for some help on where to go to get food and what not. Finally on my last day there one of the tour guides gave us some tips on buses and how and where to catch them and a taco joint near by but otherwise I had a good experience Deborah, from Canada ~ 30th Dec 2011

I had a good time in Banana Hostel! The staff is very nice, and free tours are very well made for those who want to discover good spots in Maui (shopping, beaches, hiking). I had a private room which was quite basic, but it was clean. Anyway you can enjoy common areas to meet other people! I think it is a little expensive, compared to another hostel I went to in Honolulu, but Maui is globally more expensive. I would recommend Banana Hostel to any people who wants to discover Maui in a cheap way, Adrien, from France ~ 7th Nov 2011

Big minus: for bedbugs and the powder againstbedbugs. All my stuff got white. And I won't inhale over night. And animals in the kitchen. Close to the hostel is nothing. You can't get to the hostel by bus, because it isn't allowed to take the bus with a big bag. Only hand luggage size. Big plus: The tours at the hostel. 7 tours available. Very nice people there. Jung and funny guys. Fridays you get free beer in the evening. The stuff really nice and helpful for informations about the island Andreas, from Germany ~ 17th Sep 2011

I was expecting airport pickup but was told that they have not done that since last November, so I had to take a taxi.Other than that it was great and had great free tours, Friday night keggers, make your own pancake breakfast, safe in office to lock up your valuables and a very friendly staff! Thanks CAROL, from USA ~ 11th Sep 2011

The tours are excellent. The tour guides are excellent. But some of the other hostel workers drink madly and smoke illegal substances. But then, it appears that half of their guests use drugs on the premises too. It's an insane dump with excellent tours. Torsten, from Sweden ~ 12th Mar 2011
