very good location - near sea, excellent atmosphere of south italy (even inside of hostel you feel like a sitizen of bari,cause you live in real flat ,but with new furniture and youthspirit)I was very surprised that towel was included in fee).The staff was very careful and positive. In spite of another location of check in, they go withyou to you accomodation and give map of city with useful advice how to save mony in the sity ( where to buy and what to buy)the linen was very clean) I advice Evgenia, from Russia ~ 13th May 2012

We hoped the renovations mentioned in the reviews before the summer had already taken place - they had not. It might just be a marketing trick. I cannot add anything new to the reviews: it IS a normal flat, there are NO shower curtains, the bathtub is a bit too old (even objectively), the reservations are not handled very carefully and it is expensive for what you get. I had a wonderful time @ Bari Serene's. The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful. They even offered me iced coffee (lovely when its 40 degrees C.) and helped me carry my suitcase from the check-out to the hostel. Somebody in a different review said that there were bedbugs in the hostel, so I expected the very worst, but in fact they were MOSQUITOS! Great place full of character! Well given prices, the price was right.But they are in the middle of renovations and place feels a bit chaotic.I am not sure they should really be having it as a hostel at the moment.It was busy but only for the beds.Not really a social place.Perhaps it will improve once it is done. Good: between main station and old city(10 mins walk to each). Lots of supermarkets around there, and kitchen facilities is available. Staffs are nice. Free towel. Could be better: staff is not always there when we need. While I was staying (two nights), it seemed to me that the kitchen and bathrooms were not cleaned... and kitchen and fridge smelled a bit.
