LOVED the hostel! The kitchen with free coffee and tea and the possibility to cook is awesome! Very clean and nicely furnished. Excellent price for this hostel! Great and friedly staff! when we arrived at barocco hotel we were told that they were completely full and they were unsure as to how your website had allowed our booking to even take place, we were therefor denied the reservation and were left stranded, the woman there allowed us to use their computer to book someting else but we were put out a lot of money, time and travel expenses, we essentially lost a day of our holiday because of this, i now want to know how i can reclaim the deposit you took from my bank account a Erin, from Scotland ~ 25th Jul 2009

I was at Barocco with a friend a few days ago. The location worked for us (it's a little bit tucked away but we could easily walk everywhere). The dorm (we were in the big dorm) was fine -- everyone got a locker next to their bunk bed, plus a towel. We had two main issues with the hostel: 1. Staff -- The staff were rude and totally dismissive. We didn't have any outrageous requests, they just didn't seem to care if people liked the hostel or Budapest. Its quite a simple place really, but its so cozy and people are so nice. It just made our stay in Budapest amazing. We met so many cool people and it was just backackers, no semi-alcoholic loudmouthed asholes that were only there for the booze. So it was great!
