Baxpax Downtown Hostel/Hotel in Berlin, Germany

It's a really big hostel and has a huge bar downstairs. To my surprise, they don't have a kitchen!!! I stayed there for four nights but couldn't heat one glass of milk for myself!! And they don't have liquid soap in the bathroom, which is really unconvenient. Some staff and super nice some are not. If I'm going to Berlin again, the hostel won't be my first choice. This is the second time I've stayed at this hostel, and I love it. The first time was with a study abroad group, and the second was by myself. The only problem I had on this trip was that I booked a female-only room, and one morning, I woke up and there were two guys in my room. Location is good, easy to find, able to walk to almost points. Almost staffs are kind, I believe that they did their best for me. However I was unlucky in that K-studio(30 mix dorm). I met there some rude guy(who took off my blanket to see my face at 3:00 AM!) and bed bugs(After I was bitten too much, I got one!). That studio is too big and too dark. This place is awesome. Beautiful and clean makes you feel like you are in a hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I had a reservation to change hostels in the middle of my stay and I canceled. It is not the best place to meet people since its not a party hostel but if you are social enough, it happens. Best hostel I've ever stayed in. I had a private room with my boyfriend and it was pretty much like a hotel for us, and it was quite pricey, but so worth it. The facilities are fantastic, they have a washing machine room so you can do your own washing, pool table, outdoor area where I spent a lot of time lazing around, drinking and reading. The wifi is also pretty good. The bar downstairs is a lot of fun at night, although the food they serve isn't very good and it's coated in oil and salt! I re Cathie, from Australia ~ 30th Aug 2011

Atmosphere was great in the lobby, nice bar and restaurant. City was right in the heart of the city close to the attractions and the more affordable area. Most of the staff were AMAZING, very helpful. The morning staff were grumpy and unfriendly, but the evening staff and bar tenders made up for it. Clean hostel, lots to do, easy to get everywhere!
