- “ I had a superior single room - the bed wasn't terribly comfortable and it was right next to the door so it was quite noisy. But it was secure and ok for the price. The hostel is attached to a language school so there are lots of foreign students around and also a reasonable mix of ages. It tended to be pretty loud late at night, with some drunken/high people staggering around the corridors. It was close enough to public transport, a long walk to King's Park, great restaurant/shop area nearby. ”

- “ This was the first hostel I stayed at while I was in Australia. It was a pretty decent place. Bathrooms and showers were fairly clean. My room had a few spider webs on the ceiling that had loads of flies in them, but it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely recommend it. ”

- “ The Beatty Lodge is not worth $50/night for a single room. The staff are very friendly and helpful, avoid room 44 if you can because it's right next to the main door on the floor that people come in and out of so the door is slamming all night long. Bring earplugs. The room has a fan which squeaks, a broken screen so the bugs come in, and the bed itself is uncomfortable with the springs poking in your back. Spend $27 on the all female dorm which has new furniture and is clean! ”
