No lockers. The bar in the hostel is closed. Good rental bikes. Beds are really hard. Linda, from Sweden ~ 29th Oct 2009

Worst thing was that every morning chinese Tour groups went out very early (05.00am) and woke us up every single morning because they were shouting and yelling and smoking on the floor! I asked the staff to tell them to be more quiet but nothing happened. Really annoying!! Stephanie, from Germany ~ 30th Oct 2009

This is a hotel with absolutely no charm, a real tourist industry. I recommend other hostels in the area that are the same price, cleaner, better staff and more traditional. Fern + Thomas, from England ~ 6th Oct 2009

The dorms are in the basement, it is damp, the man at the front desk has an attitude, but the staff at the travel desk are very friendly and willing to help. the rest of the place is a hotel and not conducive to meeting other travellers. the common rooms allow smoking. This is by far the worst hostal I've ever visited. The staff was unprofessional, the trash not emptied, and a lot of the services listed in the description are misrepresented. This hostal is located across from a hotel that doubles as its reception. While some guests see the picture of the aesthetic courtyard, some of them may be waking up in the basement of the hotel across the street. The location sucks too, it is far from all the attractions. There are better hostals, in Beijing keep looking! Jordaan, from Canada ~ 9th Aug 2009

This is an o.k. hostel, but since it has a hotel above it the facilities are shared which means that you have to pay for absolutely everything, which in my experience is not common in Chinese hostels. Also, the place does not quite have the community feel of a hostel and the staff just seem a little distant. William, from Scotland ~ 16th Jul 2009

In their website, it had a picture of the traditional doorway in the Hutong and I had assumed that it was the Hotel's doorway. Rather disappointed when I arrived and saw a rather developed building. But it is a convenient location and the room and ensuite toilet is really clean. Sharina, from Brunei ~ 9th Jul 2009
