  • Not a very fun vibe, but it was good value. The attached restaurant is good for western cravings! The staff also helped out with planning train tickets for me.

  • The 6beds dorms have their own bathroom (without locker) it's nice, but 6 people for one bathroom means it gets dirty very fast.. The staff speaks english, which is quite convienent. The subway stations are quite far away, you always need to walk at least 10 minutes, which is really tiring in the summer's heat. And you can find some interesting restorants near the hostel.

  • What is not mentionned in the website, is that the price displayed is for a room without window... so if you want a window, then you have to pay more. And, about the decoration in the rooms: they look more like a love hotel, than a standard, family hotel rooms...

  • Forbidden City Hostel was a great place to stay for my visit to Beijing. It was located within a 10 minute walk to Tienanmen Square and the Forbidden City, and the staff that very accommodating to help with tours. Our room was better than I expected for a hostel - two small beds, private bathroom, and TV in our room. It was unfortunate that we didn't have wireless internet available in our bedroom, but Ethernet plug in was. Staff was very friendly and restaurant was convenient.
