It was a bit far off from the actual city of Taupo, so walking would be a pain! We were looking for somewhere quiet anyways, and it was Good Friday, so we were fine to just hang out at the hostel bar! Very affordable, nice people hanging about, the room was really cozy and warm as well for it having been a very cold night! I'd definitely stay there again! I absolutely loved Berkenhoff Lodge, stayed 2 separate times while I was in New Zealand and would definitely stay again. The owner's and staff are so friendly and helpful. The location is a bit out of the way but if you call them they will pick you up and drop you off at the bus when you leave. Have lots of great memories from here!
