Chanh on the desk was super helpful. A bit noisy when drunk neighbours come home. The shower in the room I had on level 4 was fine, but on my 2nd stay I had a room on level 3 and the shower was cold. Anna, from New Zealand ~ 2nd Sep 2009

Chan was fantastic. The rooms were clean and a decent size. Breakfast was simple, but fresh and delicious. The location is great, only 5 minutes from the main backpacker strip. I originally booked at the Bich Duyen Hotel in Ho Chi Minh through hostels.com but found myself arriving in HCMC two days earlier than planned by bus from Cambodia. I emailed to see if my reservation could be changed but Bich Duyen Hotel was full so they placed me in Hong Han Guest House instead (same owner/management). Excellent! Not necessarily a hostel - more like a basic hotel. Very clean, quiet, and inexepensive. Free wifi and free breakfast. Excellent and helpful staff go out of their way to help - impressed that they even contact prior to arrange pickups. Not a good choice if you're looking to party every night, but excellent if you're more focused on sightseeing and just want a wonderful place to sleep at night with plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops in the area.
