We stayed in the private rooms, and they were really good and quiet. The bathrooms were clean, the beds comfy, and the towels changed every two days! It was almost as good as staying in a hotel. The only thing missing was a mini fridge in the room. The free breakfast was ok, although the tables were often a little crowded between 9AM-10AM and it was hard to find a place to sit, but still, a free breakfast in a hostel is a huge plus side! I just stayed overnight at the hostel as I had to catch a plain in the next morning. But I really enjoyed my stay there. Very comfy living area with big tv and free wifi. Free breakfast, even before you have to leave before breakfast hours. Ursina, from Switzerland ~ 17th Dec 2011

I stayed in Big Hostel for a few days and I found the hostel was quite good and friendly staff. The only thing is that the room cleaning can do a little bit more better. Overall the quality of service of the hostel is good and the hostel location is close to Sydney Chinatown and only 10 minutes walk from Central Station. A backpacker from Hong Kong. I highly recommend this hostel. Location is perfect, 5-minute walk from the Central Station, 20 minute walk to Circular Quay & Opera House and near convenience stores, bars and restaurants (one of them serves crocodile, emu and kangaroo meat!). Staff is great and eager to inform you about things to do and see in Sydney. Rooms are very clean, common are are nice and spacious. Big pluses: breakfast included and wifi included in price.
