i enjoyed my stay.

Beds were everywhere, even in the living room so the only place to sit was outside. In our sleeping area, there were 12 people sharing one toilet. My son's room was actually an outside gazebo with a tarp across the top of it. And the owner's dogs were regularly up on the dining room table. The owner is very nice and perhaps she thinks she is doing a good deed by allowing so many into the hostel. But it was pretty terrible.

Billie is very casual and was mindful of our needs as a couple. Her home is quirky and warm and she was helpful to any there with travel questions. If you don't appreciate a welcoming committee of two loveable pugs, this might not be your place.

People are very welcoming and helpful, rooms are not very big, they have three bathrooms but usually you will use only two. There are bikes which are free to use by hostel guests. There are two lovely dogs and a cat. It is really good value for the money.

This was just a quick stopover. But if you want any sleep, you need to ask to be in one of the rooms. My bed was in a corner off of a common area that everyone had to walk through to get to their rooms or to the bathroom. It was open to the stairs and a little kitchen area and the hall. The lights where left on(for obvious reason, as this area is really an exagerated hall), so not only was it noisy (which i can usually sleep through) but it was bright all night (which i can't sleep through). The house is old, but cute, and has some nice common areas. If you are lucky enough to get into one of the enclosed rooms, i'd say go for it. Otherwise, look somewhere else if you actually want to sleep.

It is a great experience to stay with Billie's Backpackers Hostel. People there are really nice and ready to help you out whenever you run in to any trouble when first come to a city. Will recommend to others.
