The hostel was very clean and in a great location. Lounge facilities were excellent and Staff were helpful. The only downside was our original bookings for 3 people were split into different dorms instead of a single 4 bed dorm, however the staff were able to move us in to a 6 bed dorm for the first night and back into a single 4 bed dorm for the following 2 nights. I would definatley stay here again.

not a bad hostel..just a subway or a walk to all the sights..not a great part of the city..but the rooms were good and it\'s cheap and cheerful for New York..

THis hostel is a little far out. try to stick further south. Also it's dry in the common area and the kitchen isn't really a kitchen- there's no utensils or oven. Other than that, it's cheap, clean and easy to find.

First they gave us a terrible room. The floor was broken and painting falling off the walls. We changed it, but then we had mice in our new room.

Why nothing is done to the floors in the rooms? I also think it is unacceptable to see mice running around in the rooms. Bathroom ceiling leaked A LOT and they were always dirty. Not very pleasant stay. I was given a shared 6 people room even though I booked shared room for 4.

Clean and safe, but the front desk staff is horrible! On hostelworld it says that the NYC room tax is included in the rate, but it wasn't. Also, the online deposit was not put towards the total room cost. They told me that was all part of the "booking fee". WTF? Oh, and did I mention that it took the front desk staff twenty minutes to find our reservation when we checked in. Lousy.
We had reserved months ahead, even though it was double booked at arrivel. A bit strange.
