  • It could be the best hostel in Cork! You can reach the bus station in 5 minutes and the city centre in 5-10 minutes by foot. The rooms and the bathroom are very clean. In the morning you can have some breakfast with the other guests in the kitchen.

  • A nice hostel with friendly staff who helped me a lot. The location of the place were great to get there for the train and bus stadion. A nice bar downstairs (were you check in) with live music some days a week, space music sometimes as well. A bit difficult to get in contact with other people around in the hostel in the evening for example in the bar. Pretty and clean rooms with lot of space for the backpack under the bed. Internet were gone so that was a bit annoying. Nice Hostel! :)

  • Brubar is at a prime location to discover cork and get around. It's easily the closest to the bus station and in my stay here I've had no problems with room-mates or security, yet this is the winter months. The staff are super-friendly and helpful, although the women that serve breakfast in the morning could not give a damn if u live or die. Cons: No elevator, long stairs up to 3rd floor Some rooms are very narrow, and unconfortable when fully booked as the suitcases take up space.

  • When I checked in they wanted to charge me more than what I booked through a hostel website, than they told me I have to move after one day because they were kinda booked out when I booked. I The rooms: Freezing during the day because the heat works with a timer (before 7pm it is not possible to stay in the room because it is too cold). The bathrooms look like that nobody had cleaned them in a week and I had a lot of different hairs in my bed. Just disgusting!

  • The hostile was in a good place and had a great staff. The showers weren't the best, and the beds a bit squeaky, but the rest was great.

  • This hostel was in a great location and had a nice atmosphere. I was hesitant about staying in a hostel above a bar as a female traveler, but the bar was honestly my favorite part. It had a nice, quaint atmosphere to it, with great live music in the evening. My only complaint was that I stayed in a room with someone who snored all night, but hey, you can't help that! I would recommend this place to anybody traveling on a budget.

  • I enjoyed the set-up of Bru Bar & Hostel. The bar is right downstairs so it's easy to just relax there and order a beer. It is very secure though (you need a key card to get through several doors to get upstairs to the rooms). It is a nice location - just a short walk from the city center. The rooms are fairly clean and they have nice lounges with computers to hang out.

  • As it says in the name this hostel is above a bar which is not a problem unless you value your eardrums. They appear to have lost the volume control. May suit some people but not us. Overall not a bad hostel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Facilities are minimalistic but adequate. It suited our purpose and we liked Cork but would not pick a hostel over a bar again.

  • I enjoyed the atmosphere of this hostel best because there was a bar attached downstairs which made it fun and easy to meet people will letting loose. However, the bathrooms were not that clean which really turned me off. Other than that the location was great and the staff was really helpful.

  • Good location, near railway station and bas station... Clean room and welcoming staff. Disadvantage: nosy american neighbors...
